The little church with a big heart
Snow Hill Baptist
Church

The church was organized in 1893 with George Davis as pastor. Charter members were; H.V McCall, Clayton Brookins, W.B. Duckworth, Dew Cemp, and Elizabeth Kemp.

The first church was built in 1893 had two rooms. The present church was built in 1919. It's value was $3000 and was built to seat 300 people. A fellowship hall was added in the 40's. Restrooms were added at a later date.

The church has had it's highs and it's lows.At one time the membership had voted to close it's doors, but Bro. Peck Williams, assistant associational missionary to the small churches talked them into staying open.

After Bro. Wilburn Hall was called in 1984 a major renovation was undertaken. A new roof was put on and the outside was painted. Inside the celings were lowered, panneling was put up,central heat and air were put in, and the auditorium was carpeted.

In 1990 the baptistry was put in. It was given to the church by Fairview Baptist when they built their new building. The men of North Baptist church of McKinney said they would put it in for us if we would raise the needed money. So the baptistry was put in, and the dressing rooms built. We baptized four people in May of 1992.
